How to use the attendance calculator

- Set the target attendance percentage required by your school, college or course.

Attendance formulas
Current attendance: classes attended divided by classes held, multiplied by 100.
Classes needed: the calculator finds the smallest whole number of future attended classes that brings the result to the selected target.
Classes you can miss: when you are already above target, the calculator finds how many future absences keep the percentage at or above that target.
Example: reaching 75% attendance
If 100 classes were held and you attended 70, your current attendance is 70%. Attending the next 20 classes would produce 90 attended classes out of 120, which is 75%.
Important attendance rules
This calculator uses the numbers you enter and rounds required classes upward to a whole class. Institutions may treat excused absences, cancelled classes, labs or individual subjects differently. Always compare the result with your official attendance record and course policy.

How is attendance percentage calculated?
Divide classes attended by classes held, then multiply by 100. For example, 36 attended out of 40 held is 90%.
How many classes do I need for 75% attendance?
Enter your classes held and attended, keep the target at 75%, and calculate. The result rounds up because part of a class cannot be attended.
How many future classes can I miss?
If your current percentage is above the selected target, the result shows the maximum number of consecutive future absences that would keep you at or above that target.
Do excused absences count?
That depends on your institution. Adjust the held and attended totals to match the official record supplied by your school or course.
